We often get asked where we come up with some of these names. In this case it was easy. Della Terra is Italian for “From the Earth.” What more do we need to say? It’s the perfect description for this wonderful style. Each piece is hand fitted with a very high end tightly woven fabric wrap, in either black or white. Each frame is handcrafted in and imported from Italy, and are sourced from sustainable forestry programs. All you have to do is pick which frame and linen works best for you. This wasn’t my first trip to Strathcona, but it would be my most memorable. Northern Vancouver Island is much like the rest of the Pacific Northwest, rainy. After all there is a reason why they call these rainforests, Rainforests.
The beauty of the world we live in, even in places without gigantic mountains in the backdrop, is evident by the very nature of its existence and the smallness one feels while there. This was one of those over the top awe inspiring places that caused me to reflect on such matters. I am small. My time fleeting. What joy to have been able to witness this amazing place, even if it was pouring rain. It leaves one, well, grateful.
