We often get asked where we come up with some of these names. In this case it was easy. Della Terra is Italian for “From the Earth.” What more do we need to say? It’s the perfect description for this wonderful style. Each piece is hand fitted with a very high end tightly woven fabric wrap, in either black or white. Each frame is handcrafted in and imported from Italy, and are sourced from sustainable forestry programs. All you have to do is pick which frame and linen works best for you. Can I bring my "Assistant" I'd asked, when the invite came. Once the phone call was over, I called my son (aka - the best assistant I've ever had) into my office. "Trey - how'd you like to be my assistant for a shoot at NASA?" His eyes nearly popped right out of his head. You see, he loves all things Space. What an honor to be invited to photograph the last shuttle launch for the orbiter Discovery - who's final home is likely to be the Smithsonian in DC. We couldn't wait to get to the Cape.
As guests of the Discovery Channel and Miles O'Brien Productions and we were like kids in a candy story the two of us. I'm not sure but I don't think there were many places we weren't allowed to go. We were even allowed ‘inside the fence'.
This image was taken the night they rolled back the Revolving Service Structure (or RSS for short) and we were up close and personal with the Shuttle.
