That said I personally have always strived to share what was in front of me at the moment I tripped the shutter. For me it is a pure testament to the beauty of the world we live in and not some version of reality that one could never see in person. Put another way, my work, it is not made up. Another point is that digital cameras have just gotten better over time and today some models can rival traditional 8x10 sheet film.

While digital innovation has transformed the medium, traditional techniques and processes continue to hold significance in the world of fine art photography. And not just from a personal choice standpoint but from a value stand point as well (at least in my experience ‘real’ holds its value.) From analog film to darkroom printing, photographers honor the rich heritage of their craft while embracing the opportunities afforded by modern technology. As an example, scanning film affords a photographer the ability to work separately on cross over colors which makes for more accurate final pieces. This harmonious blend of tradition and innovation ensures that fine art photography remains a dynamic and evolving art form.
