We often get asked where we come up with some of these names. In this case it was easy. Della Terra is Italian for “From the Earth.” What more do we need to say? It’s the perfect description for this wonderful style. Each piece is hand fitted with a very high end tightly woven fabric wrap, in either black or white. Each frame is handcrafted in and imported from Italy, and are sourced from sustainable forestry programs. All you have to do is pick which frame and linen works best for you. Mommy, can I have a hug?", asked Aleesha, our oldest.
It was the fifteenth hug request of the day and it was only 7am. "You can never have too many hugs", she said. Then came Trey, Keelee and finally Becca. The cycle of hugs had begun. "Honey, can I have a hug?", I asked as we both started laughing out loud. What a great way to start the day, knowing that you are loved by your loved ones.
When Aleesha was born we'd decided that we would instigate the "You can never have too many hugs" policy. In retrospect we're very glad we did. Over the years we have had millions (I think that's probably pretty accurate) hugs from each of our children, some still very young and others on the way to young adulthood. As they grow older and we do too, it is a policy that I hope will survive the teenage years and beyond.
As I and LeeAnna age and come to that point in our lives where we are the ones being cared for by our children, I hope that by 7am we will have asked for at least fifteen hugs.
